Good to know
Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image and a target size. All sizes use 1 KB = 1,024 bytes.
The tool adjusts quality and, when needed, dimensions. Compare the preview before downloading. A target is met only when the measured output fits.
Files stay in your browser. Keep your originals and check your download.
How to use Image Compressor
- Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image of up to 25 MB.
- Enter a target in KB and select the output format. JPG suits photographs; PNG keeps transparency; WebP can offer smaller files in compatible applications.
- Select Compress image. Compare both previews and the measured result, then download your image. Reset clears the current result.
A practical example
For a photograph that must fit a 100 KB attachment limit, enter 100 and choose JPG. The result must be at most 102,400 bytes to meet this target. Check the final dimensions and visual quality as well as the size.
Common questions
Will compression change image dimensions?
It can. This tool adjusts quality and may reduce dimensions to 25% of the original to reach a target, while keeping quality at 45% or above. Use Photo & Signature Resizer when exact dimensions matter.
Why is my PNG still too large?
PNG is lossless and may remain large for detailed photographs. Try JPG or WebP if transparency is unnecessary, or choose a larger target. The tool reports an unmet target rather than claiming success.
